We're delighted to announce that talented youngster Calum Kavanagh has joined on loan from Middlesbrough.
The 18-year-old attacker is the son of the former Premier League and Irish international midfielder Graham Kavanagh and has so far represented Ireland at U17 level.Kavanagh signed his first professional contract with Boro in September 2020 after showing great promise in their under 18s side, scoring over 18 goals that term. The Championship club then managed to fend off interest from Arsenal and Chelsea to keep hold of the youngster and tie him down on a three year deal.
This season, Kavanagh has been a clinical threat for Boro's U23s, scoring six times in as many appearances and he now joins Town in what will be his first loan move.
Manager Simon Weaver: “Calum is an exciting forward who will cause no end of problems for opponents with his tenacity, pace and ability, we're convinced of that. He's a determined player on the pitch, a good character and fits in with what we want in the squad which is hungry, go getting players with a belief and presence on the pitch.”
Calum will wear number eight.
