Watch the Gaffer's pre Leyton Orient interview here…
The Gaffer reflecting on Saturday's draw with Walsall and Calum Kavanagh's first professional goal…
A great breakthrough moment for him and he deserved that goal. I think he's been so close on a number of occasions but it's probably a weight of shoulders, even though they're young shoulders at 18 years old. I'm delighted for him.
I thought we just kept on probing and working hard and believing. In the dying minutes. Sometimes that attitude pays off for you and it did on that occasion. I thought we didn't resort to just banging it forward aimlessly, I thought no one had a state panic and we just kept on being us and moving forward.
On Leyton Orient…
They've picked up some good results. They drew at Forest Green and won at the weekend at home to Rochdale, convincingly as well 3-1. The play 4-3-3, they're all pretty comfortable on the ball and work hard. They also play some big long throws into the box as well, which we've got to obviously defend well. So there's a few changes but most of the personnel are obviously the same.
On the reverse fixture…
It was a good away style performance. We dropped into shape and made it hard for them to break us down that night. We then broke at pace and we've always got that to fall back on but I think at home, the onus is on us to be aggressive and on the front foot.
On a positive feeling from Saturday to take us into our next fixture…
We all went home with a spring in our step because we'd witness a good performance. It doesn't always manifest into the three points and victories but it felt like a win on Saturday and the scenes at the end were great because the lads deserved it.
They were unlucky with the sending off with Luke the game before and we played ever so well. We've played well in large parts of all the recent games but we needed a point on the board, which we got and hopefully we can go one step further now.
