The club are thrilled to announce that fan favourite George Thomson has agreed a two-year contract extension which will see him remain in Harrogate until the summer of 2025, subject to EFL clearance.
The midfielder joined the club in 2017 and has gone on to make over 250 appearances in the yellow and black across three different divisions.Our number seven has scored several important goals during his time with the club, most notably the opening goal of the National League Playoff Final against Notts County at Wembley in 2020.
In following this up, Thomson won Players' Player of the Year for the 2020/21 season which was our first in League 2.
Speaking shortly after signing his new contract, Thomson admits he is looking forward to the next two years.
“I am delighted to be signing a new contract here, it was a no brainer for me. I love playing for this club, for the gaffer and Thirs so I was pleased when they spoke to me about a new deal.
“The last six years have been an incredible journey and I just want to continue to contribute to the team. I want to keep playing games and see where I can get to as a player.”
