Experienced defender Rod McDonald joined the club during the summer of 2023 following his departure from Crewe.
It was here the 31-year-old picked up the club's Player of the Year award for the 22/23 campaign.
Having spent several years in non-league football, a trial spell for Northampton in 2015 proved to be successful with McDonald remaining in full-time football ever since.
