A brand new state-of-the-art third generation (3G) artificial grass pitch (AGP) was installed at The CNG Stadium in July 2016.
The development allows the club to play a much bigger part in the community, with a usage plan developed in conjunction with partner clubs and West Riding County FA. We are delighted to be able to open up our state-of-the-art facility to everyone in the area.
The 2 Star Artificial Grass Pitch is sanctioned by The FA, FIFA and The National League, which marks a significant step towards providing the highest quality experience for matches and training.
In May 2017 the pitch was awarded FIFA Quality Pro Status which means the surface is fit for the highest playing performance for professional level football and meets requirements for the following criteria...
Speaking in May 2016, on behalf of West Riding County FA, Chief Executive Hannah Simpson was encouraged by Harrogate Town’s increasing presence in the community:
- Playing performance
- Quality Assurance
"These new facilities will provide a real hub for football in the local area.
" I know that Harrogate Town are already positively forging links with local grassroots leagues, which is something the County FA are clearly keen to encourage.
"For local junior leagues to be able to host their cup finals at the CNG Stadium will be great, which again is something I know the club are keen to discuss.
"All in all, we are really looking forward to working with the football club to provide the very best opportunities for grassroots football to go from strength to strength in Harrogate."
