Fresh from a morale boosting victory a week ago Town are on their travels this weekend as they head south to face MK Dons for a first ever meeting between the two clubs.
The 3-2 win against Salford saw Simon Weaver’s side move on to 10 points for the 2023/24 season, climbing a number of spots in the process.

MK Dons are back in League Two this season for the first time since 2018/19 after they were relegated by just a single point at the end of last season.
Relegation brought a change at the helm with former Salford manager Graham Alexander taking charge. There were also changes on the pitch with the likes of Alex Gilbey, Craig MacGillivray, Cameron Norman, Tommy Smith, Ash Hunter and Jack Payne arriving at the club.
Expected to be amongst the front-runners in the division they are currently positioned just outside of the playoff spots with 14 points from nine games. However, after winning four of their first five games they are winless in their past four, picking up just two points.
The man in charge
Graham Alexander returned to management to take the MK Dons jobs this summer after most recently managing north of the border with Motherwell. As well as previously managing at Salford City, Alexander has also had spells at Scunthorpe, Fleetwood and Preston.
Alexander spent most of his playing days at Preston, amassing over 350 games as well as playing for Burnley, Luton and Scunthorpe.
Ones to watch
Scoring has not been a problem for MK Dons so far this season with Mo Eisa leading the way with five goals. Daniel Harvie and Jonathan Leko have both netted twice whilst Ash Hunter has two assists, mainly from the bench.
Alex Gilbey has two goals and an assist from midfield and has developed a useful partnership with Jack Payne, who is on loan from Charlton Athletic.
One-time Town ‘keeper Craig MacGillivray has made a solid start to his MK Dons career following his summer move from Burton Albion.
History
The club was founded almost twenty years ago following the relocation of Wimbledon FC to Milton Keynes, spending two seasons in League One before relegation to League Two.
The club were promoted to League One at the end of the 2007/08 season, also winning the Football League Trophy, spending seven seasons at that level before being promoted to the Championship. However, the club spent just one season in the second tier before dropping back down.
They were then relegated to League Two at the end of the 2017/18 season before bouncing back under Paul Tisdale at the first attempt. However, a poor start to the season saw Tisdale replaced by Russell Martin, who engineered a spell of success where the club challenged for the playoffs. Following his departure for Swansea the club were relegated at the end of last season.
The club moved to their current stadium, Stadium MK, in 2007.
