We owe it to the fans tomorrow to put in a typically passionate, front foot performance - Weaver pre Bradford City

21 February 2022

Watch the Gaffer's pre Bradford City interview here…

The Gaffer on the frustration of having the weekend's game postponed…

It left us feeling a bit flat. We wanted the game on but obviously we understood that there was just so much snow on the pitch within an hour, something unforeseen at probably about midday, so unfortunately just had to be called off.

On whether we can expect big changes from Bradford City following a change of manager…

There weren't any marked differences until later on in their game the other day. We're probably expecting them to go for 4-4-2 because they ended up pretty strong in that shape with two strikers up the pitch, so that's what we would envisage. It's not certain though that they'll go that way but probably what we'd expect.

An injury update on Calum Kavanagh…

He's getting closer to a return and has now rejoined our club and is doing the last part of his rehab with us so hopefully he will be fit enough for Saturday.

On Tuesday night set to be our highest away following…

It's brilliant. I think the home and away support is growing and we owe it to each of them tomorrow to put in a typically passionate, front foot performance and that's what we aim to do. It's a great feeling for all of us that have been involved for a long time, knowing that a lot of people are behind us.

On Tuesday also likely to be the largest crowd we've played in front of…

They are all new experiences, aren't they. In some terms, like for the home and away support it's our first experience as a football league club with big crowds so there's none bigger than tomorrow. It's a big ground, great set up and a fantastic football club that we're visiting so hopefully we will come out on top for the fans.

On taking positives from the reverse fixture…

There's a familiarity with individuals and we'll go through their team and what we expect their shape to be but we already know to a certain extent as they'll know us. We expect a good game.

On aiming to be confident in possession…

It's an aim of ours to be better and certainly in second halves as well. We've got our way of playing and it's getting on the front foot, but to stay on the front foot and learn from experiences where we've been clawed back recently, we have to retain control in the game and that starts with being on the ball so that will be the aim.
